2000 Porsche 911 GT3 (996.1) | Speed Yellow | Mezger Homologation IconSome cars become collectible because they are rare.
Others because they changed everything.
The 996.1 GT3 is both.
As the first ever road-going GT3, this was Porsche’s homologation special — developed in the spirit of the legendary RS cars before it, and powered by the motorsport-derived Mezger flat-six with roots tracing back to the 911 GT1.
This 2000 example is finished in iconic Speed Yellow and presents beautifully throughout. The colour suits the character of the car perfectly — bold, purposeful and unmistakably Porsche Motorsport.
This example is a left-hand-drive Japanese import, which adds to its global appeal. In Japan, left-hand-drive European performance cars have traditionally been viewed as highly desirable, and the 996.1 GT3 has now become a genuinely international collector car where colour, condition, specification and originality matter heavily.
With a factory yellow Clubsport roll cage and yellow-backed bucket seats, this car has a very special presence. It has the right visual drama, the right motorsport feel and the right analogue driving credentials.
Travelled approximately 137,000 km, this is a GT3 that can be driven and enjoyed, while still being an increasingly important part of Porsche’s modern GT lineage.
With approximately 1,868 examples produced worldwide, the 996.1 has long moved from “used Porsche” to recognised modern collectible — and rightly so.

The beauty of the 996.1 GT3 is that it still feels compact, alive and intimate. It has that rare “go-kart” lightness people talk about — not as cliché, but as reality.
It is as rewarding on a fast road as it is significant in Porsche’s GT lineage.
Cars like this are no longer simply bought to drive, they are chosen, curated and held.
